Dodge Challenger’s 50th Anniversary Calls for Special Edition

The Dodge Challenger roared to life in 1970, immediately becoming a top 3 contender in muscle cars. It powered over the competition with the largest range of powertrain options to choose from, with the small and durable 225-cubic-inch “Slant Six” to the mighty “Elephant Motor” known as the 426 HEMI. Fifty years later and the Dodge Challenger still dominates the game with the most muscle car powertrains available, including that equipped in the 797-horsepower Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye. To celebrate the mile marker, Dodge is releasing a limited-production Dodge Challenger 50th Anniversary Edition.

“2020 marks the 50th Anniversary of the Dodge Challenger, one of the most storied muscle cars in history,” said Tim Kuniskis, Global Head of Alfa Romeo and Head of Passenger Cars – Dodge, SRT, Chrysler and FIAT, FCA – North America. “That history was built on a few key things: big attitude and big muscle, loud colors and loud exhausts, and an enthusiast community that is as unique and diverse as our special editions. So, to commemorate the 50th, we're celebrating with a cool new special edition that checks all of these boxes.”

The already studded out Challenger SRT Hellcat and SRT Hellcat Redeye models will feature a 50th anniversary grille badge standard for the 2020 model. The Challenger GT RWD, Challenger R/T Shaker, Challenger R/T Scat Pack Shaker, and Challenger R/T Scat pack Shaker Widebody will all be available in 50th anniversary special editions. These limited-production 50th anniversary edition packages will all include standard a body-color Shaker hood scoop, marking the first time a Shaker hood scoop is featured on a Challenger Widebody model.

The 50th anniversary edition introduces an all-new 50th anniversary color, Gold Rush. Dodge customers can expect to find the 50th anniversary edition Dodge Challenger also available in select colors: Frostbite, Hellraisin, Sinamon Stick, TorRed, F8 Green, and Go Mango. Every 50th anniversary edition challenger will also receive a standard Satin Black hand-painted hood and black-wrapped roof and decklid. Dodge customers will also find the 50th anniversary logos on the grille and spoiler in a new “Gold School” finish.
